James Kuo

James Kuo is a Peabody award-winning writer, comedian and photographer who doesn't use the Oxford comma. He moved from California to NYC in 2010 to pursue his parents’ lifelong dream of having him not live in their basement. James started his career as an intern at The Colbert Report and worked his way up to become a a writer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which means he watched a lot of news, wrote a lot of jokes and produced a lot of comedy content. Now, James works as a creative director at 21Grams, overseeing the creative work for multiple major healthcare brands, including Genentech, Biogen, Denali, CVS Health, Aetna, and Comcast.

He doesn’t do it for the awards, but he has a few so it’d be a waste to not mention them. His work has earned him Clio Health awards, D&AD Pencils, Cannes Lion shortlists, multiple Webby’s, and EMMY nominations.

In his extra time, he enjoys hanging out with his dog Suzy, taking photos (you can see some of his work in the photography section of this website) and developing an animated series with his writing team.

In his extra extra time, James plays soccer, golf, supports Tottenham Hotspur, and occasionally uses the Oxford comma.

Suzy! Seen here modeling her raincoat/wondering if she can catch that bird.
